America and the United States Government Aren’t the Same Thing - By Reihan Salam - The Agenda - National Review Online

Brilliant.

Again, yet again, we see decentralization taking over the system, with the power structures in place unable to counter individuals exercising their free will.

People keep ignoring me, saying that my whole "decentralization vs. centralization narrative" is stupid...but really, it's not.

This is the future, people. The 21st century will be a conflict--not necessarily violent, but probably--between the centralized power structures of the elites and the decentralized societies of the people. You really can't escape it.

Thing is the American People and the American Government have never been one in the same and that was kinda the whole idea behind founding the country, that each person would be a sovreign nation unto themselves with the government acting as a sort of UN peace keeping force making sure none of us goes to war with each other.
